The upgrades of Piaggio Medley 2020 are expected to improve its sales in the segment where Honda SH is currently dominating.
On 27/2, Piaggio Vietnam has officially released the Piaggio Medley 2020 scooter towards domestic customers. For this new edition, Piaggio Medley receives several notable upgrades, raising it competitiveness against the Honda SH.
An obvious change to be seen is the upgrade of headlight system to be full LED instead of halogen bulbs as previously built, increasing lighting capabilities as well as improving its modern aspects. However, turning signals and rear lights remain halogenic.
Piaggio Medley 2020 retains its dimensions, respectively 2.020 x 705 mm (L x W), base length and seat height are 1.390 and 799 mm.
The second updated feature on version 2020 lies in the rims which bear new and more youthful design. Its size is as they were which are 16 inches at the front and 14 in the back. The model employs 100/80 tubeless tires for the front wheel and 110/80 for the other. Piaggio Medley 2020 still comes with dual channel ABS.
Another change to be seen is the digitized gauges instead of analog. With the upgrade, users can now connect their phones to the motorcycle via Bluetooth and use the Piaggio MIA app for additional information on their model.
Unfortunately, Medley 2020’s engine stays the same. The i-Get machine that is either 125 or 150 cc produces 12 and 14.7 HP respectively, 11.5 and 14.4 Nm in max torque. Comes with it is the CVT gearbox.
Starting price for Piaggio Medley is higher than that of Honda SH. The Japanese contender starts its cost at 71 million, but the highest edition of SH is valued at 96 million VND. Under 3 variations, Piaggio Medley 2020 are sold at 75; 79 and 93.9 million VND respectively for Medley version 125cc, Medley 2020 S 125cc and Medley S 150cc.
