According to the announcement on Honda Vietnam official website (HVN), from April 1, 2019, Mr. Toshio Kuwahara – General Director of 2-year term at HVN (April 1, 2017 – March 31, 2019) – officially left the “”hot seat”” to Mr. Keisuke Tsuruzono.
Before taking up a new position in Vietnam, Mr. Keisuke Tsuruzono worked at Honda Motor Headquarters and Honda Canada, North America.
Under the direction of the former General Director, Mr. Toshio Kuwahara, Honda Vietnam has achieved a lot of success in both the automotive and motorbike sectors. Especially in 2018, Mr. Toshio Kuwahara brought Honda to become one of the first carmakers to “”break”” successfully Decree 116 to import CR-V for distribution in Vietnam, followed by other models such as like Jazz and HR-V. Sales of Auto Honda in fiscal year FY2019 (4/2018 – 3/2019) reached 32,218 units, an increase of 150% compared to the fiscal year FY2018 (4/2017 – 3/2018).
Regarding motorbike production and trading, in fiscal year FY2019 (4/2018 – 3/2019), HVN’s motorbike sales reached 2.56 million vehicles, an increase of 7.6% compared to FY18 (4/2017 – 3/2018). With this result, HVN holds more than 75% of the motorcycle market share among 5 FDI enterprises in Vietnam.
Last but not least, during the term of Mr. Toshio Kuwahara, HVN is considered as a company that focuses on social activities and safe driving. Particularly in 2018, HVN promoted the training of safe driving for all people in the country. In addition, HVN also pays special attention to community contribution activities such as supporting educational development. HVN is also a pioneer in nurturing and developing sport motorcycle racing in Vietnam as well as bringing athletes to international racing competitions.
